Musk: a Savior of Democracy

By Jennifer Zeiter, GLBGOP President

Who would have thought that billionaire Elon Musk would be the savior of our democracy and First Amendment rights to free speech? Singlehandedly purchasing Twitter, the de facto public square of communication, and saying enough to the censorship that hundreds of millions have experienced over the last years. Take that poison pill and put it where the sun don’t shine!  I had about given up hope, watching our failing democracy continued fall into the cesspool of corrupt and inept politicians, politically weaponized media and government bureaucracies.  Yes, I’m talking about the IRS, FBI, CIA, NSA, NBC, CBS, MSN, CNN and yup, the CDC.  Finally, a man putting his money where his mouth is for the good of mankind (and I hope he makes a profit doing it).  Musk is doing something none of us mere financial mortals could do alone to combat the egregious censorship of companies like Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram and NextDoor.

My hope is that with Elon Musk at Twitter’s helm, no longer will anyone with a conservative voice, opinion or facts different than the mainstream media “woke” left narrative, or independent medical professionals with proven successful alternative treatments, or parents questioning the corrupt critical race teachings and sexual indoctrination of their children at school, be silenced.  Millions of us have been silenced on social media and at public meetings, not for the truth of our words, facts or convictions, but for the audacity of not toeing the liberal party line, and refusing to be compliant sheep to the woke madness destroying our families and our nation.

It’s richly ironic the mainstream media is in a panicked tizzy. They became emboldened in their aggressiveness in silencing speech that does not mimic their narrative. The news is no longer investigated and reported, it is carefully edited propaganda.  The current CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal, is on record as saying that the First Amendment does not apply to Twitter. Well, the soon-to-be new owner disagrees. Argawal should be job hunting, maybe in some communist or socialist country where his viewpoint is appreciated.

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” said Elon Musk. All I can say is Amen, and thank you.
